Jagath Enterprises which is our founder establishment involved to the tractors and motorcycles businesses in 2002. At the beginning we purchased recondition tractors and motor cycles from the direct importers from Japan and after 4, 5 years later we started to direct import recondition tractors, motor cycles, machineries and other equipments from Japan in 2006. At the beginning while importing Jagath Enterprises faced lot of financial, legal documentation problems as a sole proprietor enterprise. So owner of the Jagath Enterprises Mr.M.L. Jagath Makavita decided to run the business with legally sound family company. As a result of new vision of the founder a private limited liability family company, which VOLTA AGRO INTERNATIONAL (PVT) LTD was born in 2012.

Volta Agro International (Pvt) Ltd is a limited liability company which is registered with the Register of companies in Sri Lanka. The company is being located at the heart of the Hingurakgoda town in the district of Polonnaruwa.Now the company has been experienced in the field of direct imports motor cycles, tractors and related equipments for nearly 15 years from Japan China and Vietnam. Time by Time Company got experience that, the price of the tractor and motor cycle could be reduced by assembling and manufacturing in Sri Lanka. The target communities of the company are low income farmers, dairy and other animal farmers and micro & small scale entrepreneurs.

The company imports reconditioned motor cycles such as CD-90 and Press Cub from Japan that are very popular among small & micro entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka. Most of time the imported machinery is not in specifically designed to perform in local conditions and our mechanics make the necessary adjustments to suit these conditions according to the customer’s requirement. The company owns a spacious factory and yard for such operations. The yard and factory uses 5S for better housekeeping and maximizing productivity.

Therefore, directors of the company decided to begin assemble 2 wheel tractors and motor cycles in Sri Lanka to purchase tractors and motor cycles for reasonable price and affordable to the income of the farmers. Sales staff, under the guidance of a well experienced Sales & Credit Manager does the sales. Credit staff looks after providing financial facilities from banks and other financial institutes for farmers and entrepreneurs. This is very important because the company works very much with low income communities of the country. Therefore, we coordinate customers and financial institutions to get loans on low interest rate on seasonal basis. we always try to achieve our company vision and mission, as a result ofthat, famers and small scale business entrepreneurs could uplift their living stands.

As a result and successful of assembling tractors, company began to assembling brand new motor cycles to the local market on low price than import price. Day by day demands for the motor cycles goes up in our country as well as Asian region, we decided to start manufacturing a brand new motor cycle in Sri Lanka with the collaboration of Chine. So we selected 48cc motor cycle introduce to the local market as well as to the foreign market on the symbol of “MADE IN SRILANKA” and the brand name of “ROAD MASTER” We decide to export our brand new motor cycle to Cambodia, Maldives, Nepal, South Africa, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and other developing countries.
