BUSINESS HISTORY, MANAGEMENT & OWNERSHIP
I am Lalani Kohomban Wickrama Jayasekara, am a permanent resident of Ketoluwa, Kotagoda, Baddegama, Galle and am a recipient of the ‘Sharma Bhushana’ in 2018 and am a loving mother of three well-behaved children. Furthermore, my husband passed away in 2014 and I had to raise and care for the three children alone. I had to find solutions to the financial situation of our family that had collapsed and as a solution, I decided to turn to entrepreneurship as a businesswoman. My efforts were successful at some point and with the help of my three children, this business was planned from the year 2023 and started on 18/10/2024. This business is currently registered under the numbers 2512022, 2512023 by the Southern Provincial Business Name Registrar Office of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on 2025/01/02.
Furthermore, since a large space was required for this project, this business location has been prepared on the 1.5 acres of legally settled land inherited from my parents and I have prepared the space, electricity, water and parking space required for the business.
• Also, my eldest son, K.V. Kasun Sandaruwan, who is serving in the Sri Lanka Air Force, has invested the initial capital of 03 million rupees to purchase the necessary technical machinery for this business, to construct the factory, as well as to purchase a vehicle for transportation and other expenses. This business is being carried out with the help of my daughter, K.V. Kaweesha Madhumali, who is currently sitting for the GCE Advanced Level examination, and the necessary technical work is being done with the technical knowledge of my second son, K.V. Pushpa Piyumantha, who is currently studying at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Jaffna.
• This business currently employs two daily wage earners and we are organizing the necessary activities to expand our business in the future, which will require increasing employment opportunities from 5 to 10 in the accounting, production and sales sectors. Currently, decisions regarding this business are taken jointly by me and my children, and the distribution activities are also done by us.
