Tharindu Aqua Prawn Hatchery

Tharindu Aqua Prawns Hatchery is a local aquaculture facility located along Ambakandawila Road in Chilaw, Sri Lanka. Situated within the North Western Province—a primary hub for the country’s commercial shrimp and prawn industry—the hatchery specializes in breeding and supplying quality baby prawns (post-larvae) to regional prawn farms. It operates closely alongside the local farming community to support high survival rates and sustainable growth phases during regional pond stocking.
